Hooray!!! I’ve reached my yearly Target – 80 kg bench in 2014 !!!!!!!
In November, the Australian Para-Power-Lifting National Championships were run by Sporting Wheelies Association, located in Bowen Hills, Queensland.
I am very excited to tell everyone that my benchpress attempts – 70kg, 75kg, 77kg and 79kg – were white lights all round! AND, I felt like I had room to spare 🙂 I weighed in at 66kg.
I broke the under 67kg national weight class record with my last two lifts, winning the woman’s title. This was my goal to be in line for competition next year on the Road to Rio.There were many awesome lifts that day and I can imagine more to come in the international competitions next year.
I have also been fundraising for the team on http://www.gofundme.com/dzxreo
We are aiming to compete in at least one IPC sanctioned International event each year to be eligible to qualify for the Paralympics in 2016, so please DONATE and help us get to RIO……
Big thanks to Sporting Wheelies for hosting and running the event, to Loaded Lifting who sent us an amazing Power-Lifting care package, and to all the volunteers and competitors for keeping this sport alive on a rented shoe-string 🙂
